She turned and said to him in Hebrew, "Rabboni!" (which means, Teacher). Jesus said to her, "Do not hold me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brethren and say to them, "I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'" And they remembered his words. Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told this to the apostles.

On the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. Indeed, besides all this, it is the third day since all this happened. In addition, some women of our company amazed us. They were at the tomb early in the morning, and when they did not find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said he was alive. Some of those who were with us went to the tomb, and found it just as the women had said; but him they did not see." And he said to them, "O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and enter his glory?" Truly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her."

Then Mary took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
