Do not be afraid of the things you are about to suffer. The devil is about to have some of you thrown into prison so you may be tested, and you will experience suffering for ten days. Remain faithful even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown that is life itself.

So we can say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"
They must not discriminate in judgment, but hear the lowly and the great alike. Nor should they be intimidated by human beings, for judgment belongs to God. If the matter being adjudicated is too difficult for them, they should bring it before me for a hearing.
The Lord made an agreement with them and instructed them, "You must not worship other gods. Do not bow down to them, serve them, or offer sacrifices to them. But in fact, if you happen to suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. But do not be terrified of them or be shaken.

O Lord, for the sake of your reputation, revive me! Because of your justice, rescue me from trouble!

The Lord demonstrates his power to deliver; in the sight of the nations he reveals his justice.
