For it has been granted to you not only to believe in Christ but also to suffer for him,
Therefore do not be surprised, brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.

So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me, a prisoner for his sake, but by God's power accept your share of suffering for the gospel.
For this finds God's favor, if because of conscience toward God someone endures hardships in suffering unjustly.
For it is better to suffer for doing good, if God wills it, than for doing evil.

We do hard work, toiling with our own hands. When we are verbally abused, we respond with a blessing, when persecuted, we endure, when people lie about us, we answer in a friendly manner. We are the world's dirt and scum, even now.
Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we may be able to comfort those experiencing any trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow toward us, so also our comfort through Christ overflows to you.
