My son, despise not the instruction of Jehovah, neither be weary of his chastisement; for whom Jehovah loveth he chasteneth, even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

And ye have quite forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when reproved by him;

But being judged, we are disciplined of the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and with constant strife in his bones;

Jehovah, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.

Jehovah, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.

He that instructeth the nations, shall not he correct he that teacheth man knowledge? Jehovah knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

Jah hath chastened me sore; but he hath not given me over unto death.

Ye endure for chastening, God conducts himself towards you as towards sons; for who is the son that the father chastens not? But if ye are without chastening, of which all have been made partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Moreover we have had the fathers of our flesh as chasteners, and we reverenced them; shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live? read more.

The firstborn of death devoureth the members of his body; it will devour his members. His confidence shall be rooted out of his tent, and it shall lead him away to the king of terrors: They who are none of his shall dwell in his tent; brimstone shall be showered upon his habitation: His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off; His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name on the pasture-grounds. He is driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world. He hath neither son nor grandson among his people, nor any remaining in the places of his sojourn. They that come after shall be astonished at his day, as they that went before them were affrighted. Surely, such are the dwellings of the unrighteous man, and such the place of him that knoweth not God.

Jehovah, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing. Pour out thy fury upon the nations that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name; for they have eaten up Jacob, yea, they have eaten him up and consumed him, and have laid waste his dwelling-place.

and to you that are troubled repose with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven, with the angels of his power, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who know not God, and those who do not obey the glad tidings of our Lord Jesus Christ; who shall pay the penalty of everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his might,
