Behold, happy is the man whom +God correcteth; therefore despise not the chastening of the Almighty.

Jah hath chastened me sore; but he hath not given me over unto death.
Jehovah, in trouble they sought thee; they poured out their whispered prayer when thy chastening was upon them.

Wounding stripes purge away evil, and strokes purge the inner parts of the belly.
Folly is bound in the heart of a child; the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
The rod and reproof give wisdom; but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the LORD; and he became indignant over the misery of Israel. Then the Ammonites were called to arms, and they encamped in Gilead; and the people of Israel came together, and they encamped at Mizpah.
