Cities » Afforded refuge in times of danger
Why are, well sitting still? Gather yourselves together and let us enter the defenced cities And let us be silent there, - For, Yahweh our God, hath put us to silence And made us drink poisoned water, Because we have sinned against Yahweh. A waiting For prosperity, but no welfare, - For a time of healing, but lo! terror. From Dan, was heard the snorting of his horses At the sound of the neighing of his chargers, the whole land trembled, - Yea they came in and did sat up The land and the fulness thereof, The city, and them who were dwelling therein.
Distress » Sorrow » Common to all men
Thou who hast let us see many distresses and misfortunes, Wilt gain bring us to life, And, out of the resounding depths of the earth, wilt again raise us up;
Man that is born of a woman, is of few days, and full of trouble:
For, all his days, are pains, and, vexatious, is his employment, even in the night, his heart lieth not down, - even this, was, vanity.
Though, man, to trouble, were born, as, sparks, on high, do soar,
The meshes of death encompassed me, and the distresses of hades, came upon me, Peril and sorrow, I found;
