Thematic Bible: Jesus Christ being an example

For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you a copy that you should follow his steps, who committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth, who being reviled reviled not, suffering threatened not, but committed himself to him that judges righteously,

Jesus said to him, He that is washed needs only that his feet should be washed, but is wholly pure; and you are pure, but not all. For he knew him that was to betray him; therefore, he said, You are not all pure. You call me Teacher and Lord; and you say well, for I am. If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done.
