Thematic Bible: Jesus Christ being ordained

You know that message which began in Galilee and was published throughout all Judea, after the baptism that John preached. God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. God raised him up the third day and made him visible. However, all the people did not see him. Witnesses who were previously chosen by God saw him. We who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead saw him. He commanded us to preach to the people. We testify that he was ordained by God to be the Judge of the living and the dead. All the prophets testify that through his name whoever believes in him will receive forgiveness of sins.

God overlooked the times of ignorance; but now he commands men everywhere to repent. He has established a day (time) in which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man [Jesus] whom he has ordained. Of that he gives proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead. Know that you were redeemed from your futile way of life inherited from your fathers. [The redemption] was not with corruptible things like silver or gold, but with precious blood, as of a lamb without spot, even the blood of Christ. Jesus was known before the foundation of the world. He was made known at the end times for your sake.
