Then the high priest tore his garments, saying. "He has spoken blasphemy! What further need have we of witnesses? For behold, now you have heard his blasphemy!

"Did you hear his blasphemy? What is your verdict?"

"We are not going to stone you for a good deed," answered the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, are making yourself God." And the Scribes and Pharisees began to cavil. "Who is this?" they asked, "speaking blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

And here they brought to him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith he said to the paralytic, "Courage, son, your sins are forgiven." And behold! certain scribes said to themselves, "This man is blaspheming." And because Jesus knew well their thought, he said: read more.

But if we say, 'From men,' we are afraid of the crowd, for they all regard John as a prophet." read more.
So they answered Jesus, "We do not know." He said to them, "Nor am I going to tell you in what authority I do these deeds.
