Suppose someone says to God, "I have endured [my punishment]; I will no [longer] act wickedly. Teach me what I cannot see; if I have done wrong, I won't do it again."

For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory.
so do not reject the discipline of the Almighty.
when He has tested me,
“I have endured my punishment;
I will no longer act wickedly.
but now I keep Your word.
than to go to a house of feasting,
since that is the end of all mankind,
and the living should take it to heart.
and He answered me.

No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields the fruit of peace and righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
