When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained; what is man, that you think of him? What is the son of man, that you care for him?

"Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding.

What is man, that he should be clean? What is he who is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

Behold, he puts no trust in his servants. He charges his angels with error. How much more, those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth.

"Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself. Is it any pleasure to Shaddai, that you are righteous? Or does it benefit him, that you make your ways perfect? Is it for your piety that he reproves you, that he enters with you into judgment? read more.
Isn't your wickedness great? Neither is there any end to your iniquities.

How then can man be just with God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be clean? Behold, even the moon has no brightness, and the stars are not pure in his sight; How much less man, who is a worm, the son of man, who is a worm."

"Do you think this to be your right, or do you say, 'My righteousness is more than God's,' That you ask, 'What advantage will it be to you? What profit shall I have, more than if I had sinned?' I will answer you, and your companions with you. read more.
Look to the heavens, and see. See the skies, which are higher than you. If you have sinned, what effect do you have against him? If your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him? If you are righteous, what do you give him? Or what does he receive from your hand? Your wickedness may hurt a man as you are, and your righteousness may profit a son of man.

"Have you commanded the morning in your days, and caused the dawn to know its place; that it might take hold of the ends of the earth, and shake the wicked out of it?

LORD, what is man, that you care for him? Or the son of man, that you think of him? Man is like a breath. His days are like a shadow that passes away.

Your wickedness may hurt a man as you are, and your righteousness may profit a son of man.

Wisdom is as good as an inheritance. Yes, it is more excellent for those who see the sun.

Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all humility toward all men. But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love toward mankind appeared, not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of rebirth and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior; that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This saying is faithful, and concerning these things I desire that you affirm confidently, so that those who have believed God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men;

Your wickedness may hurt a man as you are, and your righteousness may profit a son of man.

Righteousness guards the way of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner.

"Your own wickedness shall correct you, and your backsliding shall reprove you. Know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter that you have forsaken the LORD your God, and that my fear is not in you," says the Lord, GOD of Hosts.

For wickedness burns like a fire. It devours the briers and thorns; yes, it kindles in the thickets of the forest, and they roll upward in a column of smoke.

Your wickedness may hurt a man as you are, and your righteousness may profit a son of man.

Righteousness guards the way of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner.
