For John baptised with water but ye shall be baptised with the holy ghost, and that within this few days."
Then came to my remembrance the words of the Lord, how he said, 'John baptised with water, but ye shall be baptised with the holy ghost.'
In those days John the Baptist came, and preached in the wilderness of Jewry, saying, "Repent: the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Even now is the axe put unto the root of the trees: so that every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. I baptise you in water in token of repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptise you with the holy ghost and with fire:

Howbeit, he that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God hath sent, speaketh the words of God. For God giveth not the spirit by measure. The father loveth the son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the son, hath everlasting life. And he that believeth not the son, shall not see life: but the wrath of God abideth on him."
