He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.
Therefore Jesus said to them, "If God were your father, you would love me, for I came out and have come from God. For I have not come of myself, but he sent me. Why do you not understand my speech? Because you cannot hear my word. You are of your father, the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. No one thinks, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, "I have burned part of it in the fire. Yes, I have also baked bread on its coals. I have roasted meat and eaten it. Shall I make the rest of it into an abomination? Shall I bow down to a tree trunk?"
"Son of man, you dwell in the midst of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see, and do not see, who have ears to hear, and do not hear; for they are a rebellious house.
A senseless man doesn't know, neither does a fool understand this:
You hypocrites. You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky, but why do you not know how to interpret this time?
Why do you not understand my speech? Because you cannot hear my word.
There is no one who understands. There is no one who seeks after God.
About him we have many words to say, and hard to interpret, seeing you have become dull of hearing.

This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and do not tell the truth.
"Every word of God is flawless. He is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar.
A truthful witness will not lie, but a false witness pours out lies.
