I must perform the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night is coming, when no man can work. while I am in the world, I am the light of the world. having said this, he spit on the ground, which by means of his saliva he made into clay, wherewith he anointed the eyes of the blind man, and said to him, go wash in the pool of Siloam (a word which signifies sent.) so he went and washed, and came seeing.
