And Israel smote him with the edge of the sword and conquered his land, from Arnon unto Jabbok: even unto the children of Ammon. For the borders of the children of Ammon are strong.

Moses the servant of the LORD and the children of Israel smote them, and Moses the servant of the LORD, gave their lands a possession, unto the Reubenites, Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh. These are the kings of the country which Joshua and the children of Israel smote on this side Jordan, westward, from Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon, even unto mount Halak that goeth up to Seir. And Joshua gave the land unto the tribes of Israel to possess, to every man his part; in the upper land, and nether land, in plains, and springs of water, in the wilderness, and south country the Hittites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perezites, the Hivites and the Jebusites:
