The suburbs also of Heshbon were made waste, and the princes of the Gentiles hewed down the vineyards of Sibmah, which were planted with noble grapes, and spread unto Jazer, and went unto the end of the desert; whose branches stretched their fellows forth beyond the sea.

And the LORD said unto Moses, "Fear him not, for I have delivered him into thy hands with all his people and his land. And thou shalt do with him as thou didst with Sihon, the king of the Amorites which dwelt at Heshbon." And they smote him and his sons and all his people, until there was nothing left him. And they conquered his land.


And out of the tribe of Gad, they gave the franchised city of the slayer, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs; Mahanaim with her suburbs; Heshbon with her suburbs; and Jazer with her suburbs: Four cities in all,


And the children of Reuben built Heshbon, Elealeh, Kiriathaim,
