Arnon » Boundary between moabites and amorites
And they departed thence and pitched on the other side of Arnon, which river is in the wilderness, and cometh out of the coasts of the Amorites: for Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites.
For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites which Sihon had fought before with the king of the Moabites, and had taken all his land out of his hand, even unto Arnon.
'Rise up, take your journey and go over the river Arnon. Behold, I have given into thy hand Sihon the Amorite king of Heshbon, and his land. Go to, and conquer and provoke him to battle.
And when Balak heard that Balaam was come, he went out against him unto a city of Moab that stood in the border of Arnon, which was the utmost part of his country.

And we took all his cities the same season, for there was not a city which we took not from them; even three score cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. All these cities were made strong with high walls, gates and bars; beside un-walled towns, a great many. And we utterly destroyed them, as we played with Sihon king of Heshbon: bringing to nought all the cities with men, women and children. But all the cattle and the spoil of the cities, we caught for ourselves. And thus we took, the same season, the land out of the hand of two kings of the Amorites on the other side Jordan, from the river of Arnon unto mount Hermon - which Hermon the Sidonians call Sirion, but the Amorites call it Senir - all the cities in the plain and all Gilead and all Bashan unto Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the Giants: behold, his iron bed is yet at Rabbah, among the children of Ammon: nine cubits long and four cubits broad, of the cubits of a man. Sihon king of the Amorites that dwelt in Heshbon, and ruled from Aroer, which lieth on the brim of the river of Arnon, and to the middle of the river, and half Gilead unto the river Jabbok, the border of the children of Ammon;

And Moses gave unto the children of Gad and of Reuben, and unto the half tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land that belonged unto the cities thereof in the coasts of the country round about.
And the coasts of Og, king of Bashan which was of the remnant of the Rephaim and dwelt at Ashtaroth, and Edrei; and reigned in mount Hermon, and in Salecah, and throughout all Bashan, unto the borders, of the Geshurites, and the Maacathites and half Gilead, unto the borders of Sihon king of Heshbon. Moses the servant of the LORD and the children of Israel smote them, and Moses the servant of the LORD, gave their lands a possession, unto the Reubenites, Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh.
even all the kingdom of Og in Bashan which reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei which same remained yet of the rest of the Rephaim. But Moses smote them and destroyed them.

And their coasts were from Mahanaim, even all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair which lie in Bashan, even three score cities, and half Gilead and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which pertain unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, and that unto half the children of Machir by their kindreds.
And thou gavest them kingdoms and nations, and partest them according to their portions, so that they possessed the land of Sihon king of Heshbon, and the land of Og the king of Bashan.
And Og, the king of Bashan! For his mercy endureth forever. And gave away their land for a heritage! For his mercy endureth forever.

And in the valley they had Betharam, Bethnimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, and Jordan and the coasts that lie thereon, even unto the edge of the sea of Chinnereth, on the other side Jordan eastward. This is the inheritance of the children of Gad in their kindreds, the cities with their villages. And Moses gave unto the half tribe of Manasseh. And the half tribe of Manasseh had their part by their kindreds.
