And on the morrow, they going out from Bethany, He was hungry. And seeing a fig-tree at a distance, having leaves, He came, if perchance He shall find something on it: and having come to it, He found nothing except leaves; for it was not the time of the figs. And responding He said to it, Let no one ever eat fruit from thee. And His disciples heard Him.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them that have been sent unto thee! how frequently did I wish to gather together thy children, in the manner in which a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but ye were not willing! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, that ye can see me no more until you can say; Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord.
