Alertness » What to be aware of
I send you as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Beware of men! They will take you to court! They will have you beaten in their meeting places. You will be taken before governors and kings for my sake. This will serve as a testimony to them and to the people of the nations.
Let everyone be on guard against his neighbor. Do not trust any brother because every brother deals craftily (cunningly), and every neighbor goes about as a slanderer. Everyone deceives his neighbor and does not speak the truth. They have taught their tongue to speak lies. They wear themselves out committing sin. You live in the middle of deceit. Through deceit they refuse to know me, says Jehovah.
Watch out for the false prophets. They are disguised as sheep. But in their hearts they are vicious wolves.

For you know this with certainty, that no fornicator, no unclean person, no covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Come, all you beasts of the field, come and devour, all you beasts of the forest! Israel's watchmen are blind. They all lack knowledge they are all mute dogs. They cannot bark. They just lie around and dream, they love to sleep. They are dogs with mighty appetites. They never have enough! They are shepherds who lack understanding. He who is greedy of gain troubles his own house. But he who hates gifts will live.

Cursed are those who are joining house to house, and putting field to field, till there is no more living-space for any but themselves in all the land! With my own ears I heard Jehovah of Hosts say: Many houses will become empty. Large, beautiful houses will be without people to live in them. A ten-acre vineyard will produce only six gallons of wine, and two quarts of seed will produce only four quarts of grain.
