How is it that ye do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread that ye should keep yourselves from the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken;
Jesus said unto him, Have I been such a long time with you, and yet thou hast not known me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
But they did not understand this word, and it was hid from them that they should not understand, and they feared to ask him regarding this.
And they understood none of these things, and this word was hid from them, and they did not know what was said.

And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men; and they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.
And having left there, they walked together through Galilee; and he did not wish that anyone should know of it. For he went on teaching his disciples and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after he is dead, he shall rise the third day. But they did not understand this word and were afraid to ask him.
And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they all wondered at all the things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples, Let these words sink down into your ears, for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men. But they did not understand this word, and it was hid from them that they should not understand, and they feared to ask him regarding this.
