But Jesus, aware of this, said, “You men of little faith, why do you discuss among yourselves that you have no bread? Do you not yet understand or remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets full you picked up? Or the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many large baskets full you picked up?read more.

Otherwise if you bless in the spirit only, how will the one who fills the place of the ungifted say the “Amen” at your giving of thanks, since he does not know what you are saying?

This figure of speech Jesus spoke to them, but they did not understand what those things were which He had been saying to them.

But they did not understand the statement which He had made to them.

Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word.
