They said therefore, to him, "Who are you? that we may give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say concerning yourself?" Yea, I say to you, and much more than a prophet. This is he concerning whom it has been written, 'Behold, I send forth My messenger before Thy face, who will prepare Thy way before Thee.' I say to you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; but the least in the Kingdom of God is greater than he."

And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent forth priests and Levites from Jerusalem, to ask him, "Who are you?" And he confessed, and denied not; and he confessed, "I am not the Christ." And they asked him, "What then? Are you Elijah?" And he says, "I am not." "Are you the prophet?" And he answered, "No." read more.
