Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came for a witness, to bear witness of the light, that all might believe through him.

Then he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. And he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. Whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town, shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them." So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

After this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go.

And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."

But an angel of the Lord said to Philip, "Get up and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza." This is a desert road.

And he said to me, 'Go; for I will send you far away to the Gentiles.'"

While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." Then after they had fasted and prayed, they laid their hands on them and sent them off.

From there they sailed to Antioch, where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work which they had completed. When they arrived, they gathered the church together and declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.

But Paul chose Silas and left, being commended by the brethren to the grace of the Lord.

Then he said, 'The God of our fathers has appointed you to know his will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from his mouth. For you will be a witness for him to all men of what you have seen and heard.

but on the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been entrusted with the gospel to the circumcised (for he who effectually worked for Peter in his apostleship to the circumcised effectually worked for me also to the Gentiles), and when they perceived the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

Now those who had been scattered went about preaching the word.

After this he left Athens and went to Corinth. And he found a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, having recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to leave Rome. He went to see them,

Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge; for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard."

For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for I am under compulsion. For woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!

For the love of Christ controls us, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died.
