After Jesus said this he was troubled in spirit and said: One of you will betray me.

He was despised and rejected by men. He was a man of sorrows familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised. We did not consider him to be worth much.

Looking up to heaven he sighed and said to him: Ephphatha, that is, be opened.

He sighed deeply in his spirit and said: Why does this generation seek a sign? I tell you truly no sign will be given to this generation.


Jesus groaned in his spirit and was troubled when he saw her weeping and the Jews who came with her weeping.




Jesus went from there to the Sea of Galilee. He went up into the mountain and sat down. Many people came to him. They brought those who were lame, crippled, blind, mute, and many other people.
