And when he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast it out? And he said to them, This kind can go out by nothing, except by prayer.

And it came to pass that on the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a great multitude met him. And lo! a man from the multitude cried out, saying, Teacher, I beseech thee, look upon my son, for he is my only child; and lo! a spirit seizeth him, and suddenly crieth out, and convulseth him so that he foameth, and it departeth from him hardly, taking away all his strength. read more.
And I besought thy disciples to cast it out, and they could not. And Jesus answering said, O unbelieving and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and bear with you? Bring thy son hither. And while he was yet coming, the demon threw him down, and convulsed him. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him to his father.

And when they had come to the multitude, there came to him a man, kneeling down to him, and saying, Lord, have compassion on my son; for he is a lunatic, and is sorely afflicted; for he often falleth into the fire, and often into the water. And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. read more.
Then Jesus answering said, Unbelieving and perverse generation! How long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him hither to me. And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon went out of him; and the boy was cured from that hour. Then the disciples came to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast it out? And he said to them, Because of your want of faith. For truly do I say to you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard, ye shall say to this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place, and it will remove; and nothing will be impossible to you. (...)

And coming to the disciples, they saw a great multitude about them, and scribes debating with them. And immediately the whole multitude on seeing him was struck with awe, and running to him, saluted him. And he asked them, About what are ye debating with them? read more.
