Some time after, while they were in Galilee, Jesus said to them, the son of man will be betrayed into the hands of men: they will kill him, but the third day he shall be raised again. at which they were exceeding sorry.

Having left that place, they went a private way through Galilee: for he was willing to be conceal'd. in the mean time he gave his disciples this intimation, "the son of man is going to be delivered up into the hands of men, who will put him to death, and three days after he is put to death he shall rise again." but they did not comprehend the meaning, and were ashamed to ask him about it.

and all the people were astonished at such an instance of divine power: and as they were admiring whatever Jesus did, he said to his disciples, give attention to what I now say, namely, that the son of man is to be delivered into the hands of men. but they did not comprehend that expression: it was as a riddle, which they could not understand, and they were afraid to desire him to explain the meaning of that expression.
