The Pharisees and Sadducees approached, and as a test, asked Him to show them a sign from heaven.
Some Pharisees approached Him to test Him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife on any grounds?”

Let anyone accept this who can."

And He said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. Also, if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery."

For this reason a man will leave his father and mother [ and be joined to his wife, ] and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. And He said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. Also, if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery."

So they left Him and went away.
