And when they came near to Jerusalem, even to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, He sendeth two of his disciples, and saith to them, Go into the village over against you, and as soon as ye enter into it, ye will find a colt tied, on which no man hath yet sat; loose him, and bring him to me. And if any one say to you, Why do ye so? tell him, that the Lord hath need of it, and he will immediately send it hither. read more.
And they went and found the colt tied at a door abroad, where two ways met, and they untied it. And some of the people that stood there, said to them, What do ye mean by untying the colt? And they answered them as Jesus had ordered, and they permitted them. So they brought the colt to Jesus, and laid their garments on it, and He sat upon it. And many spread their clothes in the way; and others cut off branches from the trees, and strewed them in the way. And they that went before, and they that followed, cried out, saying, Hosanna, blessed be He that cometh in the name of the Lord: blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that is coming in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest. And Jesus went into Jerusalem, and into the temple; and when He had looked round upon every thing, it being now late in the day, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.

And when they drew nigh to Jerusalem and were come to Bethphage at the mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples, saying unto them, Go into the village over-against you, and ye will find directly an ass tied and a colt with her: loose them and bring them to me: and if any one say any thing to you, tell him the Lord hath need of them, and he will immediately send them. read more.
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet saying, Tell ye the daughter of Sion, behold, thy king cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, even a colt the fole of an ass. And the disciples went, and did as Jesus ordered them, and brought the ass and the colt, and threw their clothes over them, and set Him upon them. And great numbers spread their garments in the way, and others cut off boughs from the trees, and strewed them in the way: and the multitudes, that went before and that followed, cried saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: blessed be He that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. And when He came into Jerusalem, all the city was in a commotion, saying, Who is this? And the people answered, This is Jesus the prophet, from Nazareth in Galilee.

And when He was nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, He sent two of his disciples, saying, Go into the opposite village, in which, at your entring, ye will find a colt tied, on which no man ever yet sat; loose him and bring him hither. And if any one ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, The Lord hath need of him. read more.
And they that were sent, went away and found it as He had told them. But as they were untying the colt, the owners of it said to them, Why do ye untie the colt? and they answered, The Lord hath need of him. And they brought him to Jesus: and throwing their garments upon the colt they set Jesus thereon. And as He went along they spread their clothes under Him in the way. And when He was now come near to the foot of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples rejoicing began to praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen, saying, Blessed be the king that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest! And some of the pharisees from among the multitude said to Him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. And He answered them, I tell you, that if these were silent, the very stones would cry out. And as He drew near, beholding the city, He wept over it, saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at lest in this thy day, the things relating to thy peace--- but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast up a trench about thee, and surround thee, and keep thee in on every side, and shall lay thee to the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another: because thou didst not regard the time of thy visitation.

Now his disciples did not understand these things at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written concerning Him, and that they had done thus unto Him. And the people that were with Him testified, that He called Lazarus out of the grave, and raised him from the dead: and for this reason the people went to meet Him, because they heard that He had done this miracle.
