For zeal for Your house has consumed me,
And the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen on me.

He was despised and forsaken of men,
A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
And like one from whom men hide their face
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

But I am a worm and not a man,
A reproach of men and despised by the people.

For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.”

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.

So Jesus, perceiving that they were intending to come and take Him by force to make Him king, withdrew again to the mountain by Himself alone.

I do not receive glory from men;

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?” And they took offense at Him.

Then it happened that as Jesus was reclining at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were dining with Jesus and His disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, "Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?"
