Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests, And said, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him to you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Kedron, where was a garden, into which he entered, and his disciples. And Judas also, who betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus often resorted thither with his disciples.

Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, and the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
Behold, the hour cometh, and is even now come, that ye shall be scattered every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

And when he arose from prayer, and had come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow: And said to them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony, he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling to the ground. But Peter followed him at a distance, to the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants to see the end. Now the chief priests and elders, and all the council, sought false testimony against Jesus, to put him to death; But found none: and, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses, And said, This man said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days. And the high priest arose, and said to him, Answerest thou nothing, what is it which these testify against thee? But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said to him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ the Son of God. Jesus saith to him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say to you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy. What think ye? Then they spit in his face, and buffetted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands, Saying, Prophesy to us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee? Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came to him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee. But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest. And when he had gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said to them that were there, This man was also with Jesus of Nazareth. And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.
