Thematic Bible: Men commanded to keep silent

Silence » Keep » Men commanded to keep silent
the children of the Prophets that were at Bethel came out to Elisha and said to him, "Knowest thou not how that the LORD will take away thy master from thee this day?" And he said, "I know it too; hold your peace."
And many rebuked him, that he should hold his peace. But he cried the more a great deal, "Thou son of David have mercy on me."
The LORD shall fight for you and ye shall hold your peace."
And they answered him, "Hold thy peace, and put thine hand upon thy mouth, and come with us, and be unto us a father and a priest. Whether is it better for thee to be a priest? Unto the house of one man, or to be priest unto a tribe or a kindred in Israel?"
And the Levites stilled all the people, and said, "Hold your peace, for the day is holy: vex not ye yourselves."
Mark well, O Job, and hear me: hold thee still until I have spoken.
