After six days, Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, in private to the top of a high mountain. and was transfigured before them; his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. and presently they saw Moses and Elias conversing with him. read more.
then Peter address'd himself to Jesus, Lord, said he, it is good for us to stay here: if you please, let us make three tabernacles here; one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elias. while he was speaking, a bright cloud surrounded them: and suddenly a voice broke out of the cloud, saying, "this is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him." and when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were in a terrible fright. but Jesus came and touched them, and said, arise, be not afraid. and when they had lift up their eyes, they saw Jesus all alone. As they went down the mountain, Jesus gave them this charge, don't speak of the vision, said he, to any body, till the son of man be risen again from the dead: but his disciples asked him,

Six days after Jesus took Peter, James and John, and accompanied them up a high mountain in private; and was transfigured in their presence. his raiment was of an exceeding bright whiteness, like that of snow, and such as no fuller upon earth could imitate. then Peter thus address'd himself to Jesus, master, it is proper for us to be here: let us make therefore three tabernacles, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elias. for he knew not what he said, they were all so frightned. then a cloud surrounded them, and a voice from the cloud, said, "this is my beloved son, hear him." and instantly looking round about, they did not see any other person but Jesus with them. as they were going down the mountain, he order'd them not to tell any body what they had seen, till the son of man was raised from the dead: an expression which they dwelt upon, asking one another the meaning of "till he was raised from the dead."
