And the cloud of the LORD was upon them by day, from when they went out of the camp. And it came to pass, when the ark was moved, that Moses said, Rise up, LORD, and let thine enemies be scattered, and let those that hate thee flee before thee. And when it rested, he said, Return, O LORD, unto the ten thousands of Israel.

Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh and dwelt in the land of Midian; and he sat down by a well.
