It happened he was praying in a certain place, and when he stopped, one of his disciples said to him, "Master, teach us how to pray, just as John taught his disciples." So he said to them. "What father is there among you who, if his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish will give him instead a serpent? "Or if he asks for an egg, will offer him a scorpion? "If you give good gifts to your children, how much more shall the Father who is in heaven give the Holy spirit to those that ask him!"
