Because they hated moral knowledge, and did not choose to fear the Lord, they did not comply with my advice, they spurned all my rebuke. Therefore they will eat from the fruit of their way, and they will be stuffed full of their own counsel. For the waywardness of the simpletons will kill them, and the careless ease of fools will destroy them.

The one who is greedy for gain troubles his household, but whoever hates bribes will live.
The one who loves money will never be satisfied with money, he who loves wealth will never be satisfied with his income. This also is futile.
Those who accumulate houses are as good as dead, those who also accumulate landed property until there is no land left, and you are the only landowners remaining within the land. The Lord who commands armies told me this: "Many houses will certainly become desolate, large, impressive houses will have no one living in them. Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work. They must not slander anyone, but be peaceable, gentle, showing complete courtesy to all people.
