Thematic Bible

I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."

A fool's lips come into strife, and his mouth invites beatings. A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are a snare to his soul.

Like a thornbush that goes into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

The heart of one who has understanding seeks knowledge, but the mouths of fools feed on folly.

The lips of the wise spread knowledge; not so with the heart of fools.

Shall vain words have an end? Or what provokes you that you answer? I also could speak as you do. If your soul were in my soul's place, I could join words together against you, and shake my head at you,

"Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?

Don't answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him.

"Don't slander a servant to his master, lest he curse you, and you be held guilty.

The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness; and the end of his talk is mischievous madness. A fool also multiplies words. Man doesn't know what will be; and that which will be after him, who can tell him?
