Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
Now therefore hearken to me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
Bow down thy ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thy heart to my knowledge.
Apply thy heart to instruction, and thy ears to the words of knowledge.
Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.

Do not prostitute thy daughter to cause her to be a harlot: lest the land should fall to lewdness, and the land become full of wickedness.
Lewdness and wine and new wine take away the heart. My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth to them: for the spirit of lewdness hath caused them to err, and they have gone astray from under their God.

For the good-man is not at home, he is gone a long journey: He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed. He goeth after her quickly, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; Till a dart striketh through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life. To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. Lust not after her beauty in thy heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
