After that there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is built as a city, that is at unity in itself. For there the tribes go up, even the tribes of the LORD, to testify unto Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD. For there is the seat of judgment, even the seat of the house of David.

Then Jesus said unto them, "My time is not yet come; your time is always ready. The world cannot hate you. Me it hateth: Because I testify of it, that the works of it are evil. Go ye up unto this feast. I will not go up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet full come." These words he said unto them, and abode still in Galilee. But as soon as his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast: not openly, but as it were privily. Then sought him the Jews at the feast, and said, "Where is he?" And much murmuring was there of him among the people. Some said, "He is good." Others said, "Nay, but he deceiveth the people." Howbeit, no man spake openly of him, for fear of the Jews. In the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
