When he hath put forth all his own, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice. But a stranger they will not follow, but will flee from him; because they know not the voice of strangers. This parable Jesus spoke to them; but they did not understand what the things were which he spoke to them. Jesus therefore said, Truly, truly do I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All those who came are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door; if any one enter through me, he will be saved, and will go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I came that they might have life, and have abundance. I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. He that is a hireling and not a shepherd, nor the owner of the sheep, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth; and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep; because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and I know my sheep, and they know me, even as the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father; and I give my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold; them also I must bring; and they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock, one shepherd.
