Now a worthless fellow happened to be there whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite; and he blew the trumpet and said,
We have no portion in David,
Nor do we have inheritance in the son of Jesse;
Every man to his tents, O Israel!”

When all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, the people answered the king, saying,
“What portion do we have in David?
We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse;
To your tents, O Israel!
Now look after your own house, David!”
So Israel departed to their tents.

How fair are your tents, O Jacob, Your dwellings, O Israel! "Like valleys that stretch out, Like gardens beside the river, Like aloes planted by the LORD, Like cedars beside the waters.


Then Abram moved his tent and came and dwelt by the oaks of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and there he built an altar to the Lord.

Then he proceeded from there to the mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; and there he built an altar to the Lord and called upon the name of the Lord.

Now the Lord appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, while he was sitting at the tent door in the heat of the day.


“Like a shepherd’s tent my dwelling is pulled up and removed from me;
As a weaver I rolled up my life.
He cuts me off from the loom;
From day until night You make an end of me.

Shepherds and their flocks will come to her,
They will pitch their tents around her,
They will pasture each in his place.


Then Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent, and he took Rebekah, and she became his wife, and he loved her; thus Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.

So Laban went into Jacob’s tent and into Leah’s tent and into the tent of the two maids, but he did not find them. Then he went out of Leah’s tent and entered Rachel’s tent.


They also struck down those who owned livestock, and they carried away large numbers of sheep and camels. Then they returned to Jerusalem.


It will never be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation;
Nor will the Arab pitch his tent there,
Nor will shepherds make their flocks lie down there.


Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock.


and because he was of the same trade, he stayed with them and they were working, for by trade they were tent-makers.


I saw the tents of Cushan under distress,
The tent curtains of the land of Midian were trembling.


Then Moses went out to meet his father-in-law, and he bowed down and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare and went into the tent.




Now Lot, who went with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents.


For they would come up with their livestock and their tents, they would come in like locusts for number, both they and their camels were innumerable; and they came into the land to devastate it.
