Thematic Bible: The afflicted

Thematic Bible

"You must not afflict any widow or orphan. If you afflict them in any way and they cry to me, I will surely hear their cry,

The Lord repaid me for my godly deeds; he rewarded my blameless behavior. For I have obeyed the Lord's commands; I have not rebelled against my God. For I am aware of all his regulations, and I do not reject his rules. read more.

You prove to be loyal to one who is faithful; you prove to be trustworthy to one who is innocent. You prove to be reliable to one who is blameless, but you prove to be deceptive to one who is perverse. You deliver oppressed people, but you watch the proud and bring them down.

For he does not still consider a person, that he should come before God in judgment. He shatters the great without inquiry, and sets up others in their place. Therefore, he knows their deeds, he overthrows them in the night and they are crushed. read more.

All the days of the afflicted are bad, but one with a cheerful heart has a continual feast.

Do not exploit a poor person because he is poor and do not crush the needy in court, for the Lord will plead their case and will rob those who are robbing them.

"To the one in despair, kindness should come from his friend even if he forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
