And they began to accuse him saying, "We have found this fellow, perverting the people and forbidding to pay tribute to Caesar: and saying that he is Christ, a King." And Pilate opposed him, saying, "Art thou the King of the Jews?" He answered him, and said, "Thou sayest it."


And Pilate wrote his title, and put it on the cross: The writing was, "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews." This title read many of the Jews. For the place where Jesus was crucified, was nigh to the city. And it was written in Hebrew, Greek and Latin.
