And he said to them, in parables, A man planted a vineyard and made a hedge about it, and dug a wine-vat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went abroad. And he sent a servant to the husbandmen at the time to receive from the husbandmen of the fruits of the vineyard; and they took him, and beat him, and sent him away empty. read more.
And again he sent another servant to them, and they wounded him on the head, and treated him shamefully. And he sent another, and they killed him; and many others, and they beat some, and killed some. Having yet one beloved son, he sent him last to them, saying, They will reverence my son. But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours. And seizing him, they killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. What will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy those husbandmen, and let the vineyard to others.

and when they had received it, they complained of the householder, saying, These last have worked but one hour, and you have made them equal with us, who have borne the burden and heat of the day.
Hear another parable: There was a man, a householder, who planted a vineyard, and made a hedge around it, and dug a wine vat in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went abroad. And when the time of the fruits approached he sent his servants to the husbandmen to receive his fruits. And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
