Thematic Bible: What jesus Christ sent his disciples to do

Thematic Bible

These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them: "Do not go among the Gentiles, or enter any town of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And preach as you go, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' read more.
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. read more.
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

And he called to him the twelve, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits. He commanded them to take nothing for the journey except a staffno bag, no bread, no money in their belts but to wear sandals and not put on two tunics. read more.
And he said to them, "Where you enter a house, stay there until you leave that place. And if any place will not receive you and they refuse to hear you, when you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet for a testimony against them." So they went out and preached that people should repent. And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many that were sick and healed them.

Later he appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen him after he had risen. And he said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. read more.
And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover." So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. Then they went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word by the signs that accompanied it. Amen.

Then he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. And he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. And he said to them, "Take nothing for the journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not have two tunics. read more.
Whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town, shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them." So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

After this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. And he said to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves. read more.
Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals; and greet no one on the road. Whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace to this house.' And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you. And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they give, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house. Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before you. Heal the sick there and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.' But whenever you enter a town and they do not receive you, go into its streets and say, 'Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near.' I tell you, it will be more tolerable on that day for Sodom than for that town.

Then he said to them, "These are my words which I spoke to you, while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and the psalms must be fulfilled." Then he opened their minds, so they could understand the Scriptures. And he said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, read more.
and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you; but stay in the city, until you are clothed with power from on high."

What I mean is this, that each one of you says, "I am of Paul," and "I of Apollos," and "I of Cephas," and "I of Christ." Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? I am thankful that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, read more.
so that no one would say you were baptized in my name. (Now I did baptize also the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized any one else.) For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospelnot with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
