Thematic Bible

Therefore ye are no longer strangers, and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints and of the houshold of God, Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone, On whom all the building fitly framed together,

And seeing the multitudes, he went up into the mountain; and when he was set down his disciples came to him. And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying, Happy are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. read more.
Happy are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted. Happy are the meek; for they shall inherit the earth. Happy are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness; for they shall be satisfied. Happy are the merciful; for they shall obtain mercy. Happy are the pure in heart; for they shall see God. Happy are the peace-makers; for they shall be called the children of God. Happy are they who are persecuted for righteousness sake; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Happy are ye when men shall revile and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake. Rejoice and be exceeding glad; for great is your reward in heaven; for so persecuted they the prophets who were before you. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is situated on a mountain cannot be hid. Neither do they light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick, and it giveth light to all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

While he yet talked to the multitude, behold his mother and his brethren stood without, seeking to speak to him. And Jesus answering said to him, Happy art thou, Simon Barjonah; for flesh and blood have not revealed this to thee, but my Father who is in heaven. And I say also to thee, Thou art Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Then come his brethren and his mother, and standing without, sent to him, calling him. And the multitude sat about him; and they say to him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother or my brethren? read more.
And looking round on them who sat about him, he said, Behold my mother and my brethren. For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother and sister and mother.

For I think God hath set forth us the apostles last, as appointed to death; for we are made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men. We are fools for Christ's sake; but ye are wise in Christ: we are weak; but ye are strong: ye are honourable; but we are despised. Even to this present hour, we both hunger and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain abode, And labour, working with our own hands: read more.
being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and off-scouring of all things to this day.
