It is generally reported that there is lewdness among you; and such lewdness as is not even mentioned among the Gentiles that a certain one has his father's wife. And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that has done this deed might be taken from among you.

For I am now ready to be poured out, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me at that day; and not to me only, but to all those who love his appearing.

And he will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death; neither shall there be any more sorrow, nor crying, nor pain; for the former things have passed away.
