But if the unbelieving companion departs, let him depart; the brother or the sister is not bound in such cases; but God has called us to peace.

They said to him, Why then did Moses command us to give a bill of divorcement, and put her away? He said to them, Moses, on account of your hardness of heart, allowed you to put away your wives; but from the beginning it was not so. And I tell you, that whoever puts away his wife, except for adultery, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her that is put away, commits adultery.
But I tell you, that whoever puts away his wife, except for adultery, causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries her that is put away, commits adultery.
Remember those bound as bound with them, and those injured as being yourselves also in the body.
Understand, my beloved brothers, and let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for man's anger performs not God's righteousness.
Let no evil word proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good for useful edification, that it may afford benefit to those that hear.
But if any one among you thinks he is religious, and bridles not his tongue, but deceives his mind, that man's religion is vain.
