When thou meetest thine enemy's ox or ass going astray, thou shalt bring them to him again.

If thou see thy brother's ox or sheep go astray, thou shalt not withdraw thyself from them: But shalt bring them home again unto thy brother. If thy brother be not nigh unto thee or if thou know him not, then bring them unto thine own house and let them be with thee, until thy brother ask after them, and then deliver him them again. In like manner shalt thou do with his ass, with his raiment and with all lost things of thy brother which he hath lost and thou hast found, and thou mayest not withdraw thyself.

And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD stand in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand, she turned aside out of the way and went out into the field. And Balaam smote the ass, to turn her into the way.

He that oft times flitteth, is like a bird that forsaketh her nest.

And we went astray as sheep, and turned every man his way: and the LORD put on him the wickedness of us all.

How think ye? If a man have a hundred sheep, and one of them should be gone astray, doth he not leave ninety and nine in the mountains, and go and seek that one which is gone astray? If it happen that he find him, verily I say unto you, He rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine, which went not astray.

I go astray, like a sheep that is lost; O seek thy servant, for I do not forget thy commandments.
