To you therefore who believe it is precious: but to them that are disobedient, the stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner,

Whoever therefore heareth these words of mine, and performeth them, I will compare him to a prudent man, who built his house on a rock: and the rain fell upon it, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell not; for it was founded upon a rock. And whoever heareth these words of mine, and performeth them not, shall be likened to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand:read more.

he is like a man who in building an house digged deep, and laid the foundation upon a rock; and when a flood came, the torrent beat violently against that house, but could not shake it, for it was founded upon a rock. For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose maker and founder is God.

And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each of the gates was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold like resplendent glass. And I saw no temple in it: for the Lord God almighty, and the Lamb, are the temple of it.
