Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.
Let us come, therefore, with boldness, to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and find grace to help in every time of need.
But do you, when you pray, go into your closet, and when you have closed the door, pray to your Father who is in secret: and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. But when you pray, do not use vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Be not, there fore, like them; for your Father knows what things you need before you ask him.
Jesus answered and said to her: If you had known the gift of God, and who it is that said to you, Give me to drink, you would have asked of him, and he would have given you living water.
and whatever you ask in my name, I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
If, then, you, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and appointed you, that you may go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit may remain; that whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he may give you.
Now, if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally, and upbraids not; and it shall be given him.
Cast all your cares on him, for he cares for you.
Be anxious about nothing, but in every thing, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God: and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, so that he will forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask any thing according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
